Hi, I’m Boom (he/they)! I’m a queer Filipino multi-disciplinary artist & designer born & raised on the ancestral lands of the Lenape tribe (Jersey City). I guide folks in hand-poked tattoo ceremonies where we weave prayers and intentions into a unique co-created adornment. We’ll journey together through playful portals of dreaming and reflection, through guided visualization/meditation, divination (tarot), sound healing & vocal reclamation — all accompanied by a custom herbal infusion. My intention is to support you on your path of self-remembrance, healing, and liberation. I strive to cultivate loving, consent-driven containers as this work is intimate, vulnerable, and requires deep trust.
For some time, I’ve felt lost in this world. Not knowing who I was or my “right” path. This has led me to explore different lives — receiving a degree in biology (in hopes of becoming a doctor), working in tech as a UX/UI Product designer, becoming a certified holistic nutrition coach, investing in spiritual studies, and volunteering on organic farms. I’ve learned that the less I conform to oppressive societal structures, the more I remember myself and my love for art and play. Through my ceremonial work, I’m able to connect all my passions, while guiding souls and adorning vessels with symbolic art.
In 2023, I began my tattoo career on the ancestral lands of the Kumeyaay people (San Diego), learning through the guidance of community. To me, tattooing is a sacred act that connects me to my pre-colonial Filipino ancestry while empowering my inner child. My tattoos are hand-poked, which is more time-consuming than machine, but quieter and gentler on the skin. The process is meditative, and I often imbue gratitude with each poke. Gratitude guides all that I do, as I couldn’t offer this work without my teachers, mentors, community, family, and the awesome team at Fait Maison.
Outside of tattooing, I may be exploring the intersections between mystical and digital technologies, learning about food sovereignty and land stewardship, exploring the world with my partner (Horus) & pup (Penny), or shaking my ass to jersey club.
