Whatsup everybody My name is Alvin, also known as Aston. I specialize in Black and Gray, Fine-line, Microrealism, Realism, Lettering, Ornamental/Geometric and Elegant Floral tattoos.

Art has always been a lifelong passion for me. I've been tattooing in established shops for the past 3 years now and am still hungry to perfect the craft.

My late mother started me off on my path as an artist -- she worked at an arts and crafts store and would bring home all the guidebooks and tools I needed. Eventually, this unfolded into my professional track and earned me the opportunity to study art at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Now, being technically trained from my years as an Architect and Digital Design student at NJIT (entertainment track -- iykyk), I gained a ton of experience, understanding and philosophies when it comes to approaching design and composition within traditional and digital medias. Architecture instilled an emphasis on precision that translates into my work -- if my final projects's presentation had an "unfavorable layout" or if a cross-sectional blueprint didn't line up with my digital rendering TO THE MILLIMETER, my professors would "put me on blast" to allll the students (shout-out to all the brutal guest critique judges). "All the details matter, especially the little ones." This is why I naturally picked up Fineline Microrealism in Black and Gray as my main specialty.

 

When I'm not tattooing, l'm also a barber, which has honed my steady hand and attention to detail, skills that have seamlessly transitioned between the two crafts.

 

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, movies, anime (i.e.

Naruto, avatar), delving into philosophy, strong passion-fruit margaritas, and turning up on the salsa dance floor!
